(In fact,) the potential consumer market in China is one of the country’s most attractive features.The reason why a growing number of foreign businessmen are now pouring into China is that they are quite optimistic about China’s great potential consumer market.//
In the past decade and more,the Chinese government has spent great efforts to tackle the problem of limitations on domestic marketing channels imposed by transportation bottlenecks,lack of communication faccilities and administrative requirements.//
Because often these anr critical factors that influence a foreign firm’s investment decisions/in determining whether and how a foreign firm will invest,the Chinese government has already realized their importance and has taken related measures.//

Bilateral trade reached 76.6billion USD in 2001,registering an 11% increase compared to the previous year.In particular,China’s imports from the EU grew by 15.8%.China has introduced 1,050 technical projects from EU members with a total value of 4.4 billion USD.// Up to the end of 2001,EU enterprises have set up 12,583 investment projects in China with an actual investment of 30.3 billion USD.I highly appreciate the efforts by the Europe-China Business Association and the Belgium-Chinese Economic and Commercial Council for developing China-EU economic and trade ties.//
